Are you a positive, fast-paced, team-oriented professional? We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Medical Assistant with experience in Family Practice or Internal Medicine to join our dedicated team! This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and computer skills working with EMR systems.

The ideal person for this type of role is a good listener, outgoing and compassionate, organized and adaptable and an excellent problem solver. This vital role greets our patients, displays professionalism, and maintains confidentiality at all times.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Patient Care: Interview and verify patient information, record medical history, and confirm the purpose of the visit.
  • Exam Preparation: Prepare patients for examination by taking vitals (blood pressure, weight, temperature) and reconciling medication lists.
  • Confidentiality & Records: Safeguard patient information by completing and securing medical records, diagnostic coding, and procedure coding.
  • Medical Orders: Transmit provider’s orders for labs and diagnostic imaging.
  • Clinical Support: Administer injections and assist providers with procedures. Sterilize and prepare medical tools and equipment.
  • Patient Education: Educate and update patients on medical treatments.
  • Compliance: Adhere to professional standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements at the federal, state, and local levels.

Requirements: 

  • High school diploma
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior experience in Family Practice or Internal Medicine
  • Familiarity with medical tools and equipment
  • Strong rapport-building skills with patients
  • Compassionate, caring demeanor
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in eClinicalWorks (eCW) software

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week

Experience:

  • Family/Internal Medicine: 3 years (Required)
  • EMR systems: 3 years (Required)
